July of 2023 was actually the hottest month ever recorded in Florida. Trust me, I was rebuilding my boat dock and I also love the outdoors. The temperature averages over 2 degrees more than the historical average. It felt dangerously hot in the afternoons. I was longing for November through April to come again. To make matters worse, we had below average rain and cloud cover.

The hotter air raises over land and the cooler air over the gulf rushes in. You will love this city and the entire Tampa Bay area. Yes, we have some hot days and some summer storms and even occasionally a hurricane. Take it from me, this area sees a lot of beautiful sunny days all throughout the year. Extreme heat is rare, we gladly tolerate it all things considered.
