What Are The Pros And Cons Of Living In Tampa Florida?

The pros of living in Tampa Florida are endless. The cons are all of the people you barely know who will want to visit you here. On a more serious note, The Tampa Bay area is amazing and the pros way out weigh the cons. Just the Gulf Coast beaches make it worth living in Tampa Florida not to mention Tampa residents pay no state income tax.

What Is The Tampa Bay Area

There is Tampa FL and then there is Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay is actually two things. The body of water that lies between Clearwater FL and the city of Tampa FL is Tampa Bay. Most of Hillsborough County Florida and part of Pinellas County Florida are in the The Tampa Bay area. That area starts east of Tampa FL and ends in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Pros of Living in Tampa FL

Downtown Tampa is where we will start. I will try to be as concise as possible and to the point. So I will simply list a lot of the attractions. Most are linked to on the home page of this site. Busch Gardens, The Tampa Riverwalk, warm weather year round, Ybor City, professional sports like the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League, and the Tampa Buccaneers. Ybor City is a famous city may will visit weekly and it certainly is known for its nightlife. It is more widely known for the Cuban Sandwiches found there and quite possibly being invented there.

Summer Months Limitless Fun Things

Being the Sunshine State would not be the same without those magnificent white sand beaches and all of the local water. We have the Hillsborough River, Hillsborough Bay, Tampa Bay and of course the many opportunities to take boat rides of all types from Pirate Ships to Shark Boats. If you want an active lifestyle, enjoy beaches, biking trails and the plenty of public spaces that Tampa offers you will certainly love it here. Living in this city means year round outdoor activities.

The Cons of Living In Tampa-South Florida

The extreme weather Florida has occasionally like tropical storms, and the natural disasters that come from hurricanes. Housing costs in the better places are higher than average. I would say traffic congestion but I have lived in Miami and Orlando where morning and evening rush hours are much worse. There could be more job opportunities for young adults and there is limited public transportation in some parts of town.

New Residents Of this Beautiful City

Most of us look at the downsides as no big deal. Tampa has the same issues as many cities this size but we have beautiful beaches and good schools. Affordable housing can be located north of Downtown Tampa and even a few quiet neighborhoods that are family friendly and have lots of community events. Pack your stuff and come and visit. Shortly after you get home start looking for your dream home in the Tampa area.
